The King Tutankhamun 3d Theater provides a 100 seat venue as part of the King Tut exhibit at the Atlanta Civic Center. Because it is a temporary venue (six months) it was built very inexpensively. Speed also was of paramount concern. The project was designed and constructed in only eight weeks.
The black box theater is treated with very simple elements, but the colorful terracotta and ochre walls become evident on entry and exit, enlivening the space and tying back to the colors within the exhibition itself.
