| The original house was a cramped, cut-up post war structure with no real connection to the 50x150 site. A dilapidated freestanding garage further confined the property. The owners, who are avid gardners, originally requested a social room be added to the home, but it would continue to encroach on available gardening area. Axios proposed a much different strategy that built the house as an embrasure around a lovely garden. This entailed converting the original master bed & bath into additional living area (shown at left), re-purposing the freestanding garage as a new master suite, and completing the garden's embrace with a new screen porch.
